Lazy Sunday

Random knowledge: ferrule. It’s the band that attaches the eraser to the pencil. Keep that in mind for your next crossword puzzle.

I am watching Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood because there is going to be an interview with Catherine Deneuve. She is one of the all-time beauties of our world, right up there with Grace. You could wonder why I am so possessed with beautiful women. I often try to channel their style. Audrey, Grace, Catherine. I find them enchanting. Plus, in the case of Catherine Deneuve, the accent is awesome.

The same goes for Pharrell. I love his style. I don’t want to look like him but he carries it off so well.

I know there are terrible things going on in the world. Horrific mud slides, plane crashes, horrible deaths. I don’t write about these things because I have nothing to add. You can find many, many articles to read about these disasters. Know that I am aware of the terrible things in the world but I choose to use this spot as a place to retreat, take in some beauty, enjoy a bit of banter and relax..

Random motivational quote. You can take it to heart or just leave it here on the page.

Inspiration for the green background I’m now using.

The season of pink is not far off.

French women are so chic. I think they’re born with it.

Cheer up, there’s no snow on the ground.

This is the way most of us are feeling at this point…

I finally learned how to add a proper caption to the photos I post. Hooray for me. Just one trick a day and I’ll have this thing mastered in no time.

This picture reminds me of The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh, a sweet book I just finished:

Ahh, the green background is supposed to perk you up. I think of it as the color of Boston lettuce, one of my favorite colors. I didn’t have anything to say yesterday but figured changing up the background would give some people a boost.

I suggest a new project indoors to get you through the next few (maybe several) weeks. Pick a time-consuming project, really detail oriented and maybe you’ll even end up getting into it. And try to get moving with some sort of exercise. The endorphins really do help you feel better.

In the meantime, here are some pictures to make you happy. Most are from tumblr, Pinterest and elsewhere on the internet:

Coming attractions: Pansies!

Do you know that until this very minute I had forgotten about pansies? I was just wandering around on Pinterest and came across these:

And I am now remembering that I love lilies of the valley which bloom in May. And June brings peonies. Yay! Something to look forward to.

One of the hardest things to realize is that our someday is right now.

Just a few things to think about on this Sunday. It’s never a bad thing to stop and take stock of what’s going on in your life.

I, for one, am going to be putting in more effort with my blog. I’d like to figure out how to do advertising. I have a few clients who can start for free. They’ll be my control group. You could ask what the point of my blog is ( a valid question). I really just try to find something inspiring to post to make your day more enjoyable. We can visit far-off climates and take virtual adventures. Sometimes just a simple picture of a flower will brighten your day.

Sometimes being a cat isn’t all that much fun.

Have you thought about others lately? I know, a little Pollyanna-ish …

This is how I’ll feel if the weather ever improves.

Don’t you just want to bury your face in these beauties?

Now we’re talkin’ …

I sooo wish I had thought of this.

All of these photos are randomly chosen from various web pages, Pinterest, etc. If there is a specific photographer I will take note.
